Preliminary exercise learner response
1) Type up your teacher's feedback in full. If you've received your feedback via email, you can simply cut and paste it from the email into your blog.
WWW: Although it’s not posted to your blog I was able to mark the video file in your folder on Media Shared. It’s below the suggested length of 30 seconds (and the real brief needs to be 40+ seconds) but there’s lots to credit here. The music choice works brilliantly and the animation style is generally well done. You’ve also got a strong slogan at the end along with a clear product shot so important advertising conventions included.
EBI: You did have some preliminary planning posted to your blog which is good to see but not every task was complete so that’s one to keep an eye on for pre-production and the main coursework adverts.
In terms of your preliminary exercise, one important bit of feedback is concerning an original idea – this is quite similar to existing Innocent adverts so you need to come up with a completely original idea for your real coursework. The other key bit of feedback is camerawork as it’s essential to use a tripod and keep the shot identical for this kind of stop-motion approach. In terms of the last shot, I wonder if the product could be slightly bigger / more dominant in the shot and it’s also worth thinking about font and typography. Your slogan is great but the font doesn’t look the fonts used on the Innocent bottle.
LR: Complete the missing work as outlined above and post your completed preliminary exercise to your blog once it’s uploaded to YouTube.
2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and the feedback you were given, write two WWW bullet points (What Went Well) and two EBI bullet points (Even Better If) for your preliminary exercise.
