Camera movement and editing
1) Pick three aspects of camera movement in the Minority Report clip. Identify the type of camera movement and write about why the director chose to use that camera movement in the scene and what effect it has on the audience.
- Crane: This when the camera moves with the actors so in this movie the characters are fighting and that they are going up in the air by the jet-pack . so it shows the audience that what is happening in the scene at this time.
- Pan: Pan is used to follow movement to create a feeling or drama. When he was running away in the first bit of the movie the camera was following his every move.
- Tilt: : Tilt is when the camera is going up or down and making the villain look big and powerful. This can show in the movie that who is the villain and hero and when the character is going up the stairs the camera moves with him
2) Pick two aspects of editing in the Minority Report clip and write about what effect it has on the audience.- Cut: At the start of the movie the camera is still on him but somewhere else in the train at the start of the movie he was on the train and it was near his face and then jumped to a different place but it was.
- Pace of editing: In the ally way there was a moment when he though he was caught but a dog jumped up and after that happened it was a fast pace of editing.Such as him climbing the ladder.
3) Finally, revise last week's work on camerawork by picking out two shots or camera angles in the clip that communicate meaning to the audience.- There was a close up used on the suspects face to showoff his thoughts and feelings on what his next actions should be.On the train there was a over-shoulder shot when the man was reading the newspaper and made eye contact with the suspect.
